Compare the mechanical specification
A locally assembled car and its imported counterpart are often different products. Hold engine, transmission and trim constant before interpreting a price gap.
Read the badge, not only the assembly field
Locally sold and Japanese-market trims use different vocabulary. If the stated assembly and badge do not make sense together, ask for chassis details and documentation; assembly is commonly seller-entered and can be wrong.
Check import-specific evidence
For an import, ask for the auction sheet or import documents where available and understand the mileage evidence. A low odometer can help explain a premium, but an unverified reading should be a question rather than a feature.
Price the condition and support network
Parts availability, workshop familiarity, hybrid-battery condition, tyres and resale demand are part of ownership value. A cheaper import is not automatically cheaper to own.
Use assembly as one input
Assembly can explain a market split when cars are otherwise comparable. It should not override the actual variant, engine, transmission, condition and evidence in an individual listing.
